Zeller Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 5, 2026
Zeller is operated by Ryan Stephen in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada ("Zeller," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Zeller app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@thezellerapp.com.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your mobile phone number, name, date of birth, and school.
- Profile details you choose to add: photo, bio, interests, and other profile content.
- Activity in the app: cards you send and receive, whether you sent a card anonymously, coins earned, reports and blocks, and notification preferences.
- Device details: a push notification token and basic technical information needed to run the app, such as app version and device type.
- Contacts, only if you allow it: when you choose to find friends, phone numbers from your contacts are checked against Zeller accounts and then discarded. We never store your contact list.
2. How we use it
- To create your account and verify your phone number with a one time login code.
- To run Zeller: deliver cards, reveal your mail each morning, and show your profile to other users.
- To send notifications you've allowed, such as when your mail opens.
- To keep Zeller safe: enforce our Terms, review reports, and confirm users are 18 or older.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
3. Anonymous cards
When you send a card anonymously, the recipient does not see your name. We still store who sent each card so we can review reports, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
4. Text messages (SMS)
We use your phone number to send one time login codes when you request them in the app. We do not send marketing messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
6. Sponsored content
Zeller may show sponsored cards from local businesses. These are shown to everyone at a school and are not targeted using your personal information. We do not share your personal information with sponsors.

Your information is stored in the United States, on servers in Oregon operated by our database provider, Supabase. Our other service providers, such as Twilio, may also process it outside Canada. Information stored outside Canada may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app. When you do, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal or safety reasons.
